BOBBY FERRARIS
PRESIDENT, HOCKEY DIRECTOR, AND REGISTRAR
Robert Ferraris began his career in minor league professional hockey–playing and coaching 400+ games; he coached Midget for the Connecticut Wolves, then Assistant Coach and recruiting coordinator in NCAA DI at AIC (2003-2005), and Mercyhurst University (2005-2015). With Ferraris as Associate Head Coach, Mercyhurst won the 2014 Atlantic Hockey Association (AHA) regular-season title, with Lakers skaters earning the AHA Student-Athlete of the Year, Player of the Year, Goaltender of the Year, Best Defenseman, Sportsman of the Year, and Top Defensive Forward. In 2015, and for the fourth consecutive season, Mercyhurst earned a spot in the league tournament in Rochester, bolstered by four players who reached the 100-career-point plateau, an AHA record. Currently in his eighth season as the Head Coach of Trinity-Pawling School in the Founders League, Trinity-Pawling won the 2018 Founders League Championship. Three Trinity-Pawling hockey alums participated in 2024 NHL Development camps. Current hockey alums play NCAA hockey for Amherst, Army, BU, Clarkson, Holy Cross, Maine, UMass, Mercyhurst, Sacred Heart, and Wesleyan.

Co-Director of Hockey and Development
Taylor is the Co-Director of Hockey and Development at Champions. Taylor will lead efforts in hockey development with a focus on innovation and skill enhancement as well as coach our 14-2, 14-1, 16/19-2 Split season National Bound teams. Taylor adds a wealth of knowledge to Champions, having served as a Hockey Instructor and Consultant at IPH Hockey, LLC in Newington CT, since 2018. In this capacity, he conducted personalized and group training sessions for players of all levels, from youth to professional, emphasizing innovative skill designs to challenge participants and enhance their unique hockey skill sets. His dedication to guiding players and families on future placement and appropriate levels of play has been a hallmark of his work. In 2022, Taylor took on the role of Head Women’s Ice Hockey Coach for the U19 team at Shoreline Sharks in Northford CT. There, he managed all aspects of the team, including practice planning, system implementation, and skill development. His effective communication with collegiate coaches and invaluable advice to players and families regarding future placement at the collegiate level has been instrumental in the team’s success. Prior to his current roles, Taylor served as an assistant coach for the Post University Men’s Ice Hockey Team in Waterbury CT, from 2018 to 2021. During this time, he focused on special teams and defense, conducted skills sessions, and participated in recruiting efforts. His counseling to players on both on and off-ice matters, as well as his thorough analysis of game film, contributed significantly to the team’s improvement.

Co-Director of Hockey and Development
Chase’s hockey journey began with the Jr. Wolfpack at Champions Skating Center - playing under former NHL player (and now coach) Bob Crawford. Later progressing to the Selects Hockey Academy at South Kent School, he initially committed to Quinnipiac University. Chase later chose to pursue new challenges in Canada and at 16 years-old was drafted by the Sherbrooke Phoenix of the Quebec Major Junior League (QMJHL). While living in Quebec, he played three seasons with the Sherbrooke Phoenix and two with the Victoriaville Tigers, earning the assistant captain’s “A” throughout his tenure, except during his rookie season. Competing with and against some of the best players in the world, Chase gained invaluable experience. After 5 seasons in the QMJHL, Chase attended Concordia University in Montreal. At Concordia, he played for the Stingers men’s varsity team in Canada’s USPORT league. He was honored to wear an “A” on his jersey for each season at Concordia as well. Chase graduated with a major in Human Relations and a minor in Business Management. Chase’s professional career includes a season with the Norfolk Admirals of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL), affiliated with the Chicago Wolves (AHL) and Carolina Hurricanes (NHL). Following this, he played in the Italian Hockey League with HC Como. Most recently, Chase completed a full season with the Danbury Hat Tricks of the FPHL and continues to play professionally with the Hat Tricks.Chase brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for the game to our community. Parents can trust that their children will be guided by someone who has competed at high levels, understands the importance of teamwork and leadership, and is committed to developing young athletes both on and off the ice. Our organization is excited to welcome Chase back to Cromwell, where he will inspire and mentor the next generation of hockey players.
